"Owl Will Always Love You" Valentine Caddy Crochet Pattern

Valentines is slowly getting out-grown by my kids, and as much as I won't miss scrambling last minute to pick up 40+ Valentines (and ensuring I get the "RIGHT" ones for each child), I will miss sitting down with them and helping them right out each individual card. Helping them spell their classmate's name and taping a heart sucker and sticker to each corny 2X3 flimsy (albeit terribly corny) Valentine. Before my youngest became too old for passing out Valentines, I wanted to use my crochet skills and whip up each of his classmates something. Here is a quick and easy pattern for the "Owl Always Love You" Valentine Caddy that you can use to store Valentines, candies, or just be an adorable stand alone stuffy (it also makes a PERFECT teacher's gift!)

What you'll need to get started:

Hooks: 4.00mm (G) Gauge: Not necessary Yarn: *Pink A (body): 100 yards *Pink B (wings/heart pocket): < 50 yards *White & Yellow: <10 yards Two 12-15mm safety eyes (can be substituted for a crochet pupil, you will need a small amount of black yarn)

Abbreviations:

sc – single crochet hdc – half double crochet ch - chain sc2tog/hdc2tog – single/half double crochet two together/invisible decrease slst – slip stitch Rnd – round st(s) - stitch(es) FLO - Front Loop Only BLO - Back Loop Only

Notes About Pattern:

*Gauge is not necessary for this pattern. Depending on your tension and the yarn you use, Owl will work up to be approximately 6-9 inches in height. *Total number of stitches in round will be listed at the end of the round instructions in brackets. *You can use Magic Circle in place of “Ch2, Xsc in 2nd ch from hook”. *For How-To Video tutorial of Surface Crocheting, please watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJ8FI5PJfvk
